What are your plans for the summer?


The West Coast Free Counselling Clinic will be running a DBT group for girls that teaches critical skills to foster mental health awareness and self care. These skills are beneficial to everyone and can be applied in countless circumstances across the lifespan.


Dialectical behavior therapy was initially developed by Marsha Linehan in the 1980s to treat individuals with borderline personality disorder (a highly problematic descriptor, IMO) but I’d be hard pressed to find anyone who wouldn’t benefit from improved mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, or interpersonal effectiveness skills.
